Molalla River Meander

MOLALLA RIVER MEANDER is a data sculpture that reveals 15 years of alluvial flows of the Molalla River in Clackamas County in Oregon. Researchers at the USGS Oregon Water Science Center provided LIDAR maps of the river taken between 1995-2009, which were used to create a physical representation of the river that captured its path as it changed. Flooding in the years between 2005 and 2009 caused a new branch of the river to form.
